About Karen

Hello! My name is Karen and welcome to my online home! Won’t you stay a spell?

If you are here for the first time, welcome! If you are returning, welcome back! I’m so happy you are here. I am the guiding force behind Mystic Sage Art. I am a stay at home mom, wife, and Spiritual Artist.

What is a Spiritual Artist, you ask?

I call myself a Spiritual Artist because I use art to connect with the Divine Spirit and it’s many, many forms. You may refer to it as the Holy Ghost or the Virgin Mary. I refer to it as Mother Earth, Lady Goddess and Lord God. No matter how you refer to it, Divine Spirit is something each of us believes in, no matter our personal views. As a pagan and spiritual person, I believe that when people are connected to the Divine that speaks and guides them, they are not only more in balance personally, but harmonious with the world and other people around them. I believe in creating a personal, tangible, bridge between the physical realm and spiritual realm that is not only beautiful piece of art, but serves as a focal point and tool in their spiritual practice and life. Because not everyone is drawn to sculptures and art as depicted in history books and as dictated by scholars. Why should our connection to the Divine Spirit be any different?

My journey…

I have been an artist all my life. From the moment that I was handed my first box of crayons and paper, I would spend hours drawing and imagining the possibilities of everything.
My art changed over the years as I grew and my beliefs changed. It really changed for me after my husband and I were married and I experienced another miscarriage. That was my second one and the loss hit me really hard. I poured my emotions and feelings into paintings and sketches. It was healing me emotionally as my body healed physically. It was during this time that I had opened myself up to a deeper connection with my Divine Spirit.
Fast forward a few years, I wanted to create a unique gift for some friends for the holidays. I asked my girlfriends at the time the same question, “How do you see the Triple Goddess the Maiden, Mother and Crone?” They say the longest distance is the distance between head and heart. In my heart I knew people saw them differently, but my head just wasn’t with the picture yet. Those three different answers from three different people really hit home. That is when my brain and heart were on the same page. No matter who you are, no two people see the Divine the same way. How I see them, is not how you see them. And I have had to this day, a strong desire to bring to life that vision. Not only for myself, but for others as well.

Not everyone is drawn to the sculptures and art as depicted in history books and as dictated by scholars.  Why should our connection to the Divine Spirit be any different?

My Mission…

My art is a journey. It represents that journey each have taken to connect with their Divine Spirit. No matter the journey, no matter the path, no matter your beliefs, people want a physical connection to their Divine. That is where I come in. It is my mission to guide you through the journey to bring your vision of the Divine Spirit to life how you envision them.
I work one on one with you to bring your connection to life. Whether it’s a painting or sculpture, the journey is the important as the experience. My art serves as a bridge between our physical realm and the spiritual where Divine Spirit resides.
